Fumes exhaust IV

on the other side the tube ends in the chimney of the building. We sealed the hole off with foam to go faster and avoid having to play with cement or plaster up there. Besides this part will be above the plaster ceiling that is coming in tomorrow. Posted by Hello

The result of all the work: on one side the tube comes just above the stove (or at least that's what we hope). And .... Posted by Hello

Before putting in the new ceiling, we had to put the exhuast in for the kitchen. As we had to go a long way (4 meters) till the chimney ana as we wanted the exhaust as silent as possible, we decided for plastic tubes instead of the usual aluminium ones. Here you can see the first step: attach the braces to the ceiling. Posted by Hello

Electricity II

Securing the electrical board. As you can see there are a lot of tubes but no wires for the moment. Posted by Hello

Sliding doors VI

The door mounted in our sleeping room. Seriously it was more complicated to get the door, bring it home, get it on the 10th floor than mounting it. Posted by Hello

Our car with the two sliding doors on the top. As you can see we didn't strap it to the car in a very "conventional" way ... but it holds.

For the little story the bars we use to transport the doors are from IKEA. You can borrow them for free during one month. As we never used ones before and will probably never uses any more after this .... borrowing them from, IKEA may be good solution.Posted by Hello

There is a new hole in the wall, big enough for the sliding doors ... or at least we hope so. Posted by Hello

picando voy picando vengo

After giving it a lot of toughts I finally decided to create this blog to answer the constant need of family members to see new pictures about our appartement in Barcelona.

As most of you now know, my wife and I finally took the big step ... we bought an appartement here in Barcelona. So far so good, nothing special. It becomes a bit more tricky when one decides to redo everything. And when I say everything I litteraly mean everything. Nothing is spared: electricity, water, gas, heating, A/C, ... We even tore down some walls !

When we bought the place we could live in it, today it is absolutely impossible.

Later on I'll post some before-after pictures. Now I have to run home to check upon the electrician .... if he decided to do something today. but that's for a later post.
